Spelthorne Archers are pleased to announce that we will be holding our popular opening shoot on Monday 1 April 2024, with sighters starting at 1:30pm (please arrive early to set up).
Our handicap competition kickstarts the outdoor season, with prizes to be won (and not just for the best handicap score!). This is a event that all members can take part in regardless of what distance they can shoot, how good you are or even how long you have been shooting. Beginners are very welcome, it really is a great opportunity to come down and have a fun afternoon.
The fun competition is always popular, free to Spelthorne members and we encourage members to sign up early! Neighbouring clubs will be invited to send members to join us for the afternoon, or if you would like to bring along a friend with AGB membership please just get in touch with Joyce at
We will be shooting the classic National rounds, an imperial round shot at two distances on a full sized 122cm face. 4 dozen arrows at the longer distance and 2 dozen at the shorter distance. The available rounds:
National (60) – 60yds / 50yds
National 50 – 50yds / 40yds
National 40 – 40yds / 30yds
National 30 – 30yds / 20yds
Mini National – 20yds / 15yds*
*The mini national is not a standard round and a handicap is not possible for 15yds
